About Me

Hello Friends! I am Karan, a regular guy trying to break the monotony of my 60-hour work week by taking intermittent breaks to explore my planet. I gravitate towards experiences that provide a narrative to satiate my incessantly curious soul. An avid storyteller myself, I want to put together a bunch of stories about my quests across the globe.

I aspire to capture the myriad flavours of a place, be it the culture, cuisine, history or folk-lore and present them in the truest of their forms. I hope every story on Sincera Hues inspires you to experience something new or leaves you with a sweet feeling of nostalgia.

Over the next few years I hope to convert these intermittent breaks into a lifestyle. I would love to not have a return ticket and amuse myself by exploring new locations or rediscovering old ones.

Curious about the eye?

For all those of you who are curious about the eye in the logo, it is the Eye of the Horus

The Eye of the Horus has its origins in the ancient Egyptian mythology. Horus is one of the many Egyptian Gods – The God of sky; and the Eye of Horus held a special significance in the Egyptian folklore.

The Eye of the Horus is considered to be not only all-seeing but also all experiencing. The ‘eye’ in its entirety is a sum of six different parts. Every part represents a sense that adds up to create a wholesome experience of anything it encounters.

The sight contributing 1/4th or 25% of the total experience, hearing contributing 1/16th or 6.25% and so on. Intuitively, one would expect the six parts to add up to 100% but they don’t. One still misses out on 1/64th part of the experience which according to ancient Egyptians was magic!

Coming to my interpretation of the Eye of Horus through the lens of a traveller

Through Sincera Hues, I aspire to provide a wholesome experience to my readers. Although my travelogues would be detailed and sincere, the reader would always miss out on the 1/64th bit or magic.

So how does one live that magic?

There is only one way – by experiencing the destination first hand and creating your own stories to tell the world.

The ‘Eye’ in my logo beckons to you my reader to get on the road and undertake that journey… Carpe Diem!
